For Beethoven, music was a life force, inspiring us to believe in ourselves, capable of moving us to extraordinary creativity and acts of great love and courage. His ‘Ode to Joy’ celebrates joy, specifically, especially, as the harbinger of that peace and universal community. Echoing him, then, leading up to his 250th birthday, we're determined to build a counterpoint of gentleness, peace and love for Earth herself within the current political and societal tumult. To share ‘Ode to Earth’ through all possible means, flooding the world with beauty, calling on people everywhere to unite to heal Earth, climaxing in global celebrations of this wonderful person, one of humanity’s most profoundly inspiring prophets.

A Global INTERdependence Anthem
Earth is One, Our Mother, Our Glory
Life and hope, beauty and peace
Caring for each one of her children
No matter race, gender, color or creed.
But now our Mother is close to dying
Beaten, violated, ravaged raw
Now is our moment, O all my family
Come to her rescue as never before!
Oceans are surging, sun it is scalding
Forests and animals cower in fear
Join hands with us now, O all you peoples
Singing, creating, the future that's near!
Every person, all races and nations
Weaving our joy, our sweat, our blood
Tomorrow is now, O Beloved Family,
Build it, NOW, together - united in love.
PEOPLES’ DECLARATION
OF INTER-DEPENDENCE
We, the People - and Peoples - of this one exquisite - and exquisitely fragile - Planet, hold these truths to be self-evident:-
Ø That all persons of every race, calling, creed, colour, condition and age are created equal. There are no exceptions.
Ø That they, collectively and individually, are endowed with certain inalienable rights. Among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Ø That the fundamental sources and resources to achieve these rights: Peace without threat, fear, force or weapons; pure air; fresh water; an uncontaminated earth; nourishing food; good health; creative education; a secure home; race/gender balance; equitable justice; local and global responsibility; authentic, proportionate, participative representation; and worthwhile work - also belong to them all, inalienably, and for ever.
Ø That this inheritance - these resources truly without price - can never be taken over or away by individuals, classes, corporations and/or states for their own exclusive or majority use, exploitation, profit or control.
Ø Rather, that it is the marvellous gift and responsibility of every human generation to enjoy and utilize these resources with respect and delight, in interdependence with all peoples and with the whole multitude of species, both animal and plant, with which we co-inhabit this tiny, fragile, planet.
Ø And, within that gift, to hand them on, enhanced, to the children of our children's children.
We, the People and Peoples of Earth, so battered, so beloved, therefore order all our employees - the governments of the world - to re-allocate at least 5% of all budgets currently devoted to the military, war, weapons development, and the arms trade to re-green the planet, and bring pure water to every single person on Earth.
Vitally, 5% not merely of money and materials but also - and especially - 5% of the creative lives and expertise of all their workforce and members.
And that those countries and individuals grown unsustainably wealthy through historical and/or ongoing exploitation of whole nations, peoples, and common planetary resources, pay just and appropriate reparations for that exploitation, while assisting all those affected to combat the climate catastrophe and related pandemics that abuse has brought on the entire planet.
Ø Thus, we can: Avert otherwise inevitable wars over water - infinitely more precious than oil.
Ø Re-green the Earth - so ameliorating the worst effects of the climate crisis.
Ø Begin the deliberate building-down of weapons. This alone will represent a vast psychological breakthrough for humanity.
Ø Improve the overall well-being of Mother Earth and all her people - by liberating unimaginably vast quantities of resources and huge numbers of highly-skilled personnel for urgent medical, ecological, social, community-building economics and other tasks.
Ø And, finally, the wonder of a healed, balanced, cooperative, planet will at last provide a truly fitting memorial for all those who sacrificed – and who go on sacrificing - their lives, in all the endless wars to ‘end all war’.
